2 Community RePaint Scheme Community RePaint South Lancashire WN8 9SX
Community RePaint schemes collect reusable or leftover paint and re-distribute it to individuals, families, communities and charities that are in need to improve the wellbeing of people and the appearance of places. Each year over 300 million litres of paint from retail and trade are sold in the UK. It is estimated that approximately 50 million litres are unused being stored in peoples homes, garages or they are just thrown away. That is enough paint to fill 20 Olympic sized swimming pools. We see waste paint as a resource as long as it is reusable so do your bit for the environment and your local community by donating your leftover paint to us.

13 Contact the Elderly Contact the Elderly Southport PR8
Contact the Elderly is a national charity (founded in 1965) which helps relieve loneliness by arranging free monthly Sunday afternoon tea parties. One Sunday a month each older guest is collected by a volunteer driver and taken to a volunteer host’s home where they join a small group for tea, friendship and conversation. The group of 6 to 8 older guests and their volunteer drivers are welcomed by volunteer hosts who give afternoon tea in their home once or twice a year. We focus on those over 75 who are isolated, who cannot get out without a helping hand, and have no close family nearby. We also welcome members who would benefit from the warmth of companionship and conversation but may not feel at ease in a club, or lack confidence to use community transport. We give priority to people living on their own and understand that on Sunday older people may feel especially lonely despite other contacts during the week. We also recognise that people in sheltered accommodation may technically not be living alone, but may still feel very isolated.
